Camping hookups are located near the horse arena. Anyone desiring an RV spot MUST contact Expo New Mexico security upon arrival. Arrangements and payment are with and to Expo New Mexico. RV hookup is $35 per night with electric, water and/or sewer. Call 505-401-5095.
RODEO RULES · The World Gay Rodeo Finals® will follow the rules listed on the International Gay Rodeo Association (IGRA) website. CONTESTANT REGISTRATION · ALL Contestants must be “invited” to compete but we encourage All IGRA members to attend. · What & Where: Registration will be held at Sidewinders Bar, 8900 Central Ave SE, Albuquerque, NM. When: Friday, October 20, 2017 from 4:00pm-6:00pm (2 hours only) · Any contestant unable to register by 6:00pm must contact the Rodeo Secretary – Ron Trusley (602) 510-9671. · No Shows will be fined per the 2017 Rodeo Rule Book. · Buddy Passes will be available for $30 at contestant registration only. Purchaser must be accompanied by a registered contestant to qualify for a Buddy Pass.
ARENA There is an approved variance for the Horse Arena – size is 117’ X 246’
(Regulation size area min. is 120’ X 195’). · The Horse Arena is completely self-contained facility providing an excellent perspective for both audience and participant. Spacious bleacher seating for 1,800 people. Features include a lighted canopy, offices, six display cases, a snack bar with full liquor service and an onsite feed store.
HORSE AND STALL INFORMATION The Barn Manager is Jonathan Suder (972) 762-8688. Assistant Barn Manager is Sam Simpkins (425) 260-7907. Horse stalls will be assigned on a first-come, first served basis. Stall check-in hours are: on Thursday, Oct. 19, 1:00pm-7:00pm and Friday, Oct. 20, 7:00am-3:30pm. WGRF will provide, at no charge a minimum of one (1) horse stall for invited, pre-registered contestants entering horse events. Additional stalls will be available for $25.00. · WGRF will charge a $50 late fee per stall to contestants who have not pre-registered by the deadline and/or who do not reserve the correct number of horse stalls on their entry forms. · Shavings will be available in the stall area and at the Feed Store for $7 per bag. You may bring your own shavings. Please bring your own feed, water and feed buckets, water hoses, etc. as there will not be any provided on the grounds. Water spouts and wash racks are available in the barn area. · All stalls are roofed, full-sized with covered porticos and 4ft. doors. Stall and tack room doors will accept padlocks. All horses must be stabled. There will be an onsite farrier during each rodeo performance. Contact information for the veterinarian and farrier will be posted in the barn area and on the results posting board. Contestants are responsible for their own costs for these services.
HORSE INFORMATION · All equine must have current Coggins test certificate. Out-of-state horses should bring original negative coggins report (within one year) and health certificate within 30 days. It is the contestant’s responsibility to know and follow the laws and requirements of the state of New Mexico. Contestants are advised to check with the appropriate authorities regarding any required certificates, which may be necessary when transporting livestock across State borders.
